Things you find when you clean

So as I said I've been sorting through some stuff yesterday. And usually when you clean up, you find some stuff. Well this time I found one of my Christmas presents that I hadn't packed up yet.
It's the huge makeup bag that I got from Roberts mom, his sister and her boyfriend on Christmas :) It was in one of the bags I still hadn't packed up yet since I got back from Stockholm over Christmas. (Yes, I know I'm slow :P)

I felt like playing with the makeup a bit, so I grabbed one of the lipsticks and the matching lip-pencil and tried it out.

Then I of course had to play with some different "poses" and different  filters. I'm going to say right now that my teeth are NOT that white, but you know, a few photo-filters on the pictures can do a lot :) ( I wish I had those teeth without filters!)

Sorting through and cleaning up

Sometimes it feels like I never have the time to do things around the house, like clean the apartment and sort though stuff that's been piling up. Today and tomorrow is a day off, so I'm trying to check a few things off my "to do" list. Unfortunately I also have a home-exam to do and I still have to study for friday's lesson and monday's seminar. So I'm trying to divide my time.

I found these cute binders at ÖB and bought two of them. I've been sorting through all the papers that's been piling up and realize I will need more of them, two just does not cut it. So next time I'm at ÖB I will buy a few more of them.

I'm also thinking of selling some books. I've only been studying psychology for two years (One year at Stockholms University loose courses and now one year on the Psychology program here in Örebro) yet it seems the books keep piling up. I know I'm not going to read most of them again, and they take up a lot of space in my bookcase, so it would make sense to sell them off now while they're still worth something.

I can't wait for the weekend.

Mending pants and breaking bad

Right now I'm mending my jeans for the first time. Usually, I've just been buying new ones, I don't know why I haven't even tried to mend my jeans before, I guess having patches on the insides of the thighs would look weird, or so I thought.

Yet, here I am, mending my jeans cause I'm tired of buying new jeans all the time when mine break. This time, I'm trying the mending thing.

I've never done it before, yet I know some different ways to do it, so I've been trying them all to see which one works best. At the same time I've been watching Breaking Bad. It's a series that's been going on for a while, yet for some reason I've never seen it. So, this time I decided to start watching it. And it is awesome! It's exciting and thrilling yet, it has humor and drama in it as well. It is just a great combination - I understand why my friends have been talking about this series so much!

After watching the first season, trying every possible way to mend my pants and fighting with my sewing machine for ages, I finally made a fix that I was okay with.

The inside of the pants with the final fix.

The outside of the pants directly after sewing the patches on.
They are not too visible but I plan on making them even less visible.
The patches are visible, but not too much and it feels good wearing them too. I plan on using sandpaper or something to make the fabric a little lighter in color and after a few washes and walking in them for a while I'm thinking the color will start to match the rest of the pants even more.

Either way, it looks good and it feels comfortable when I'm wearing them so I'm happy. This way I can take my time to buy some more jeans, after all I have way too few of them.

Nail Design

Now that I'm slowly giving up biting my nails, I can finally start to play with painting my nails again. I love japanese nail art, but since I usually have such short nails I have never really had a chance to play with it. I'm thinking of buying some more fun tools for nail art along the way, but for now I'm just going to play around with simple designs for a bit like this one that I did yesterday:
My right hand with a simple nail design

It's been a while since I've painted my nails and using my left hand to paint small dots on my right hand nails really is hard! I have to become better at using my left hand.

fresh photos from the winterland

As you all might have noticed I'm not back in Stockholm this weekend. This time, it's because Robert wanted to go to Åre to ski with his schoolmates. So he's there right now, and I'm in Örebro trying to catch up with all the school work, this course it really crazy - it's just way too much.

Either way, it seems like he's been having fun and he's been sending me some pictures from the mountains

Absolutely beautiful up there.

My babe's king of the world!
It looks absolutely beautiful, and even though I'm not much for skiing I kind of wish I was there just to see the scenery. Maybe I should trying skiing next year ;)

Pencil Trolls

Anyone remember these cuties?
They were pretty popular in sweden when I was a child and is called "penntroll" or pencil trolls in english. Basically it's plastic trolls with really unruly hair in different colours with a big hole in their ass where you shove up a pencil. Then they sit there on your pencil with a weird euforic face ;)  I don't know why they became so popular, really, but they were cute, had different colors and you could collect them - so we did.

Either way, they're really cute and all, but their hair is what singles them out. Their a special race of trolls - pencil trolls.

Well today, I woke up as a pencil troll.
So I guess I just wanted to inform you about the fact that I've joined the pencil troll race and may start sitting on your pencils in the near future.

It's just in my nature now.

A little lighter weight-loss update ♥

I went today to the gym for a HIIT (High intensity interval training) workout :)
I've heard that they are very good for creating afterburn, and that is of course very good for weightloss, so I tried it. It was tough I tell you! I ran at full speed for 45 seconds ten times (with a 45 second calm tempo jogging in between), as it was the first time I've tried it. It really was tough, but somehow, the time went faster. After the short HIIT, I used the cross machine for another ten minutes or so before using the gym to strengthen my arms and back, after all I really need to strengthen my upper body - it's just way to weak! But I'm working on it ;)

Either way I just thought I'd up you on my weight loss journey (If you don't remember it's one of my new years resolutions to loose at least 5kg) or whatever I should call it.
It was about two and a half weeks since I started my diet when I last weighed in (it was on tuesday or wednesday I think) and the weight loss has been going steady as expected :)

I've lost 2kg and 0.7% body fat (a little over a kg fat in my case) according to my scale (it can measure weight, body fat, muscle, bone, water procentage and so on). According to the amount of calories that I've burned off with workout and low-calorie diet plan it fits pretty well with the fat measurements, so I think the scale is pretty trustworthy, even though it can change a bit between days. It doesn't really matter though, every week it's still going down a little at a time, and that's the most important  part ^-^
A dinner from the other day.  Bacon-cheese and shrimp filled plaice (Sv: Rödspetta) fillet rolls with spaghetti and mixed vegetables. A big portion, but only 350 calories

Since I loose about about 0.75kg every week it won't take that many weeks until I've lost the minimum goal of 5kg that I've put up, but I've also been thinking now that I do have a scale that can measure body fat, if loosing 5kg fat shouldn't be my goal instead, after all, if it's not fat I'm loosing the weight will come back pretty fast as it's probably just water or something...

It's not like I'm really suffering from eating less calories, really. I make sure to eat good food, just with less calories, like the picture above is of a dinner I had the other day after working out. I was hungry after the workout so it's a pretty big portion for me, yet it's not more than 350 calories, so it's not like I'm suffering, only eating bland food or bars or anything. Yet somehow I don't think being on a low calorie diet too long is good either... Maybe having a few weeks of rest and regular eating and exercising after my 5kg goal and then doing another diet again? It's not like I'm in a hurry to loose a lot of weight so taking a break might be good too.

Either way I can think about that later when I've reached my first goal - 5kg off ^-^

It's not much further :)

Whatever happens happens :)

Today was a weird day in school.
We had a seminar and were supposed to present a group work we had done. We were four in the beginning, one immediately said he wouldn't come because ofa hospital appointment. The second one didn't contact us, and didn't answer out calls. So, we were two who did the work of four people. It worked out fine though, not much problem.
But then, when i woke up this morning i had gotten a text from my only remaining group mate that he had gotten the stomach flu! Such bad luck! I mean, not only does he have to throw up all weekend, he also has to do a make-up essay since he didn't come to the seminar - even though he had actually done the seminar-work and only had the presentation left. I feel so sorry for him :/
For my part it just got weird. I had to present my part of the presentation without his part, so it became a bit patchy.
In the end it's alright though since i passed, but it sure became weird... Haha :p

Oh well! Now i'm going to the gym for a HIIT workput at the gym :)

Bikinis for the summer!

It's cold dead winter with -12°C outside but lately I've already started looking around for bikinis.

Every year I start to look for a bikini in May and June, now for any normal person that is fine. But I have to go to special bra and bikini stores to find one in my size - I can't just buy one at H&M you know. And then, when I do start looking it's always too late - my size is always out.

So this year, in the spirit of the hopefully soon arriving spring, I'm already deciding on bikinis!

I've found this great site called bonprix.se and I've found these three cute bikinis:

I ordered them yesterday so I can try them on at home <3 Hopefully they're a cute on as they are on the screen :) haha <3 The best thing is that if I by some chance like and fit well in all of them I can afford buying all three of them. The amazing thing about bonprix.se is that the bikinis are a steal! They're so cheap even for larger cup-sizes! It's my first time shopping there so we'll see about the quality, but at least I'm a fan of the designs and prices.

I've also been looking at my favorite bra store change's  new summer collection of bikinis and found this beauty:

No, I'm not talking about the model (not that she's not cute or anything), but the bikini <3 It's gorgeous! That one bikini is almost as expensive as the three above together, but I know the quality is good and the design is just right! It's absolutely adorable <3

So I'm thinking about buying that one too, maybe. After all, my boobs have already graduated from most of my old bikinis, I only have one bikini left! And I just think I need a few more. You gotta jump at the opportunity when you see things you like too. After all, some years you find everything you want, but the next year you find absolutely no cute bikinis at all... So this year, I'm stocking up ;)

Practical work

Today is the start of a new course that will run parallel to the other courses this term - a course in practical prevention. We will in other words be placed in different schools or organizations and observe their prevention routine as well as participate in them. In some cases, we might even lead them.

So today,we were getting the exciting news of where we are supposed to be for our practical work.

Before we have filled a paper with our wishes, and you could choose between three different age groups in a school environment or to go to some kind of organization usually within the police or care section. I thought the organization part sounded much more exciting and so I signed up for that.
Unfortunately I didn't get what I wanted, instead I was placed to be in a school here in Örebro. It will probably be exciting too, and a good experience, but I had to feel a bit of disappointment at not getting what I wished for. And it wasn't just me. A lot of the people in class that I talked with seemed to have been slightly disappointed at where they were placed. Not everyone of course, but many.

I guess that's just the way it is sometimes. It's not a big problem though, i will shake this feeling of disappointment of in no time and work hard to complete the course :)

But you know, this picture is kind of how i'll feel out in the real world... I really do hope all the information I need is stuck in my head like it should be ;)

When you need to live like a cavewoman

My internet mysteriously stopped working. Usually i just need to restart it and it works fine, but today - no such luck. So, i called my internet provider, and after about 23 minutes they were mystified. Apparently i had found some sort of weird signal error.
So, until it's fixed i'm living like a caveman with only 3g internet on my cellphone. ;) So like any real caveman (or cavewoman) i opened my spa box, put on a ginseng and jasmine face mask, hopped into a vanilla and elderflower bubblebath and brought two books (one for schoolwork and one for leisure) and a bottle of water with me.

The schoolbook i'm reading and the face mask.

It may take a while to get the internet back, but I'm prepared!

Books, books, and more litterature

It's a new semester this week. And usually i buy books for the whole semester all at once, but this time, the semester is starting with a course with a crap load of books.

Yes, that's right, six books just for the first course costing around 1200kr! (about 175usd and 131 eur) There's still the books for the other three courses this term too!
So, i salvaged the situation slightly by buying the books second hand for 800kr instead (about 117usd and 88eur).
It was actually a really good idea, the books are in really good shape and it was fast and easy to get a hold of them all. Don't know why i haven't done it before.

Now i just need to read all these books....

Ellie Goulding

Lately Ellie Goulding's music has been stuck in my head. So I've been stuck with her songs "lights", "anything could happen" and "figure 8" in my head.

Not a big problem really, they're really good. But I have not heard of her before, so I thought maybe, some of you haven't either. If so, you should start listening and get them stuck in your head too ;)

So here you go, Ellie Goulding's "lights", her debut song :)

Can you guess the secret summer plan?

This weekend me and robert did not play Zelda, watch movies or series for one little moment. Nope, instead we were working really hard, planning a little secret something for summer. The thought of our plans terrifies me, makes me uncomfortable, and at the same time makes me excited and happy! It will most likely be very tough both physically and mentally at times as well as broaden our outlook on life and be absolutely epic. It has, and will keep on needing a lot of research and planning to do, but we're willing to sacrifice a little ;)

No idea what I'm talking about? Not even a little? No?

Well, that's probably cause I'm deliberately being coy with you :) I won't tell you about our plans just yet, first I feel like we really need to be fully sure we can do it - everything has to click for it to work. So, for now I'm just going to leave you in the dark.

Not gonna tell yet, nope. For now my lips are sealed.

You are though very welcome to comment your guesses if you want to ^-^ <3

A night on the prowl

Tonight me and Robert decided to have a night out for a change. Now that Robert doesn't have as much going on as last year he can finally start to relax and have both the energy and time to do something else. So, we took advantage of that and went for a real night out on the town with Sarah and Alex!

Sarah and Robert at the dinner table. Let's just say Sarah don't like being photographed too much, even though she's so cute!

Me and Alex on the other side of the table. As usual when Robert takes the picture he makes me look all round and captures me with a weird face ;) what can I say? An unphotogenic girlfriend and a terrible photographer boyfriend causes these pictures to happen ;)

We ate at ramen kimama, a Cozy ramen restaurant in Stockholm that serves delicious real Japanese ramen! I've been there once before and it's still as tasty. Don't go there unless you're reeeeally hungry though, because the portions are HUGE!

Then after a very filling dinner we went for a walk to biljardpalatset (the pool palace) and played some pool for an hour :) i don't play pool too often, but it is fun and i think I'm getting slightly better at it every time i play it :)

Then for the final act of the evening we went and bought ourselves a big bag of candy and ventured to the movies for the life of Pi! A relatively new movie on the big screen.

I've heard good things about both the book and the movie yet I was still pleasantly surprised! It was really good and Incorporated the 3D effects really well unlike most other movies. It turned out to be a fantastic story and with the well thought out 3D incorporation, you could be there in the movie and join pi on a pretty darn epic journey.

I recommend the movie to everyone who has not seen it yet, it is a real experience! :)

A short nail update

So you guys remember my New years resolutions? well, one of them was to gradually stop biting my nails.
Now, i've been biting my nails for as long as i can remember (i think when i was little i even bit my toenails at some point!), and i've quit many times, sometimes for months, but one way or another i always fall back to biting.

I've tried every method in the book, including stopping abruptly, focusin my hands on something else, painting my nails with nailpolish, painting my nails with that aweful tasting junk that you get used to after a week or so.
Nothing has ever worked in the long run. So, this time when i decided to quit again i looked nailbiting up online and tried to find a way that has worked for other people. I found a version that is a step by step course to stop biting your nails, basically to stop biting on one nail at a time while still biting on the others until finally there's no nails left to bite on. For now i've managed to stop biting on three nails on my left and four on my right, so i only have three nails left until completion of the course!

This is how my right hand looks right now. :) pretty good no?

I've noticed i don't bite the "available" nails as often as i did before either so it might be a good sign.

Either way it's going good. Soon i'll start playing with painting my nails again <3

how are your new years resolutions going?

How to put away your jewellry - with style

Or something.

Those of you who've been with me for a while might remember that i bought a mirror cabinet kind of thing.

Yep, and it's awesome. Its a full length mirror that you can open and tadaaaah!

So much space to put your earrings, bracelets, rings, pins, scrunchies, necklaces sunglaces and so forth!

The only thing i still haven't managed to fit into the cabinet is the diadems, but other than that, everything fits perfectly!

I wanted a full length mirror and someplace to put my jewellry, so when I found this full length mirror that could also fit my jewellries on Groupon i got real happy <3

Lazy girl

So, today is a day off from school. I have a hell of a lot to read, so I started the day of by reading a bit.

My two books for this course that ends this week. Two weeks to read the both of them.

i noticed pretty quickly though that i wasn't really up to usual speed. I started feeling a bit sluggish and thought that maybe i had caught the bug that my parents had when i last visited. So instead of doing everything i had set out to do, i watched series, anime and read manga pretty much all day while drinking tea and keeping myself warm in the cold apartment.

the tea i bought on monday, black tea with a taste of quince, peach and cream

When work out time started to draw close though Robert called me and persuaded me that working out when i feel sluggish is a good thing, and that unless the illness has broken out you can still stop it by working out, eating and sleeping well. So, i did. I went for the body balance class and afterwards even went to the gym for a little cardio.
And you know what? It felt really good :)

Knitting and designs

Here in sweden it's pretty darn cold during the winter, yet i don't have too many warm sweaters to keep me warm.
I always seem to have trouble finding cute knitted sweaters, and so i rarely buy them, even though i should.
Now, for some reason, quiting biting my nails and knitting have somehow been connected many times for me. I guess i need to keep my hands busy and knitting does that.

So, combining these two ideas i thought "what if i knit my own sweater?"
And though that may surely be a good idea, i rarely knit, i should say that the last time i knitted was probably three or more years ago. So i don't remember much of how to knit. Surely, as i relearn it will come back pretty quickly. But then there's the biggest problem - i have never knitted anything as complicated as a sweater before...

Either way "impossible" is not in my vocabulary! Anything can be done with a little practice and help from the internet.
So while in class today i sketched up a fairly simple sweater with a few design twists to "cuteify" it :p (picture above).

At first though the design had a different colored body and arms, but i soon decided it would be too complicated for a first try sweater, so i simplified it even more to a same colored sweater with only the top ribbing in a dofferent color and a separately knitted heart at the front. The twist will then be the lace. I'm planning o using crochet stitching for that and found a cute pattern, but in worst case i'm thinking about just buying some lace and applying it. It would work too.

Either way it will be a lot of work so i'm kind of not expecting it to be finished before next winter haha!

I'm also thinking about what colors to use... I've been thinking pink for the details (heart, ribbing lace) and a light brown/ kaki beige or maybe grey for the body...

what do you guys think?

Ponderings and yoga

So today, I've been thinking a lot about stuff, just random things. There is so much I want to start doing and also things I have to do. The mix of those two can sometimes become complicated. Sometimes, no matter how much you want to, you can't do everything. And so you have to prioritize.

I've been pondering about a trip, a huge trip that might be happening this summer, and how the hell to make it happen. Let's just say money might be a big frickin' issue.
I've also been thinking about these two paintings I bought a week back:

Now, the bottom one I love and I plan on keeping it, the top one on the other hand was more of an impulse buy, and well... I'm not too sure about it. So I'm pondering taking it all the way back to the store. It might just happen.

I've also noticed that I don't have enough warm sweaters, and I particularly like knitted ones. I once knew how to knit but don't really remember any more. But then I thought if I just relearn how to do it I can knit my own sweaters and maybe even add cute ribbons or hearts or cupcakes or whatever. The sweaters I have are after all kinda boring. Yes, it might be an idea, and so I've been pondering when and how to make that happen.

All of these thoughts and indecisiveness led to a complete disaster at yoga today. I couldn't concentrate, my balance was off and the ten minutes of meditation that was supposed to be total relaxation and bliss turned into itching and fidgeting. Let's just say that I was not in the zone today.

Irritated at the bad workout I went to the gym and ran 4km on the treadmill to try and get that wonderful effect of calm that being totally busted from a workout gives you. It helped - finally.

Then I went to buy milk in the store and walked past some interesting flavours of tea, two which caught my fancy. Fifteen minutes later I had chosen my tea flavour, starting to walk towards the register.

Then I changed my mind and went back.

This has not been a straight forward making-quick-and-swift-decisions-like-a-baws day.

Just saying.

Emblem3 ♥

If you follow me you might have noticed that I have mentioned a few times that me and Robert have been watching the second season of x factor (the american version), now, we're finally done and though many were good I got really stuck on the gorgeous Emblem3 They have such a unique and sexy sound (not to mention they look pretty darn good too). After the show they got signed, so now, I'm just waiting for their first album <3 As it is right now, I'm stalking their youtube channel and re-listening to the songs they have made together so far.

So for all of you Emblem3 fans and to-be fans I give you their latest song that have hooked me good.

They. Are. So. Good.

I usually don't fangirl, but you know, for Emblem I just might

What do you guys think about this brand new group? :)

After picture ;)

So now i'm done at the hair salon :)

And no it didn't take three hours.

It took a little bit over and hour or something like that, but then i decided to visit my parents. You see they have both gotten sick :( seems like a nasty flu.

Since they are sick there won't be any sunday dinner tomorrow so i decided to visit them today instead to see how they were doing. They were pretty down, but they can still always talk, so i sat with them and talked a bit, aired out the apartment for them and nagged on them that they had to eat haha :)

But now, i'm finally on my way back to Robert's place ^^

Oh and i promised to post an "after picture" for my hair right?

So there it is :) she cut quite a bit of my hair. A wholesome four centimeters of the length :)

Before my hair was kind of in three parts - the bubble gum textured bleached hair, the bleached but still kind of okay hair, and the good hair, now we have finally cut of the last piece of the bubble gum hair and that's also why i asked her to cut of so much - i really wanted for the worst hair to finally be gone!

So now, there's only about 6 cm of the so-so hair left in the tips, and then, i'll finally have only my healthy natural hair left! And then, i can finally start saving my hair to be long again :)

It will be great!

//wayu

Time for a haircut!

I'm right now on my way to my hairdresser for my regular haircut. She's really taken care of my hair so well, it's not much of the bleached dry hair left, only a few centimeters left, and then i'll have all smooth and nice hair again ^^ <3 data-blogger-escaped-br="">

how my hair looks right now, kind of a before pic? ;)

I must though say that i think my hair looks pretty good already (compared to before), so i can't wait to see how it looks when it's healthy all the way from root to tip!

I'm looking forward to it so much i'm thinking of asking her to cut off a few centimeters more than usual....

I will post a picture of the results later <3 data-blogger-escaped-br="">

Moustaches with authority

Today was a long school day for me, with one seminar in the morning, lunch and then a lesson in the afternoon. I'm not saying it's a super long day really, but usually i don't have more than one lesson a day at university so, compared to usual, it's been a long day.

But it's also been a fun day!

it's a picture of the whiteboard with santa's (my teacher) writing. It's frickin' unreadable :p any guesses?

First of all, my teacher in this course is hillarious! He keeps on saying all these fun quotes that i write down in my notebook, like this one:
"they talk about the good and the bad breast, because sometimes no matter how damn hard you suck, you get nothing".

Given, it IS a course in freud and psychodynamic Theory, but surely even in those circles such a quote must be funny?

At least it's fun for me and my classmates :p

Hanna played around with her moustache necklase, cause apparently it gives the wearer authority ;)

But then, we're a pretty funny bunch ;)

Cheating Bitch

Sometimes (Okay, a little more often than sometimes) I cheat.

No, not on tests or with taxes or anything major, I mean smaller things, like for example blogging. And that "sometimes" have been in session today. It's been on my to do list since christmas to blog retroactively, and let's face it, I've been lagging behind pretty darn bad. So, since I started confusing myself with all the retrospect posts about christmas when I just, really, want to think about the snow melting away (and summer, ice cream and short shorts...) I decided to use the convenient cheating system that blogger provides us bloggers - the magic power to decide when our post were or will be posted. So, I changed around and fixed the blank (read, lazy) days into days were something actually happened. It did, I just wasn't focusing my energy on writing it down. But well, it happens when you're like me.

A cheating bitch that is ;)

This is cheating like a baws!

Thankfully, I'm not that bitchy for a bitch ( at least not too often), so I've compiled a nice link list for you so you can find the post I've written and moved around. Here you go:

The three christmas posts (Just click on the names to redirect to the posts):

Christmas morning - About the morning of the 24th
Christmas Eve - About the rest of the 24th
Christmas Day - About the 25th and 26th (Warning for funny pictures)

The missing posts after New Years (Once again, just click on the names to redirect to the posts):

Fika with the girls - My last day in Stockholm
IKEA - going back to Örebro and shopping from Swedish most famous world wide brand IKEA
Yoga Vinyasa Flow - Trying a new class
New Years Resolutions - A list of my promises for 2013
Balance and Zen - More for my Work out category

So, there you go :) For those of you who will actually use the links and not just, you know, scroll down the start page. For you, I'm a nice cheating bitch!

//Wayu

P.S I'm not saying I won't cheat with my blogging anymore.  After all I'm pretty sure I didn't write down "don't cheat with your blogging" in my new years resolutions. D.S

Balance and Zen

Today I've been off from school. So I've been doing some "must do" stuff all day like washing clothes (I finally got around to washing my jacket and my bedding), stuying, cleaning and working out. Today it was a much longed for class of les mills body balance! I haven't done a class since last year (ha!) after all, so to start again felt great. It was also to boot the old routine (Though next week will be the new routine), so I felt right at home with the moves!

I also noticed that even though it's been a while I'm getting a lot better and since yoga class this monday when I learned to perfect my yoga poses, I noticed how much more each pose made my muscles burn. It's great when you can feel that even though you're getting better at something it's not getting less effective as a workout but actually more effective.

I'm going to try and squeeze in a cardio workout this week too, to get an all round body workout.

Suddenly I feel so hearty and brisk lol.

New Years Resolutions

So usually at new years I just look back at the year and hope for a better one this year, I also make a new years wish when the clock strikes midnight, that's been my tradition. These last few years though, I've started to also think about what I can do to improve myself, and to get closer to my goals. I've never written them down, but I had them loosely in my head.

A comic about New Years Resolutions by Dave Granlund, you can find more here.

This year (or technically last year), "loosely in my head" wasn't enough, so on the last day of 2012 I wrote down my New Years Resolutions for 2013. Granted, it was a new idea on my part to write them down, and I decided on it pretty late in the evening, so they became a bit fuzzy, and I forgot some important stuff as well, like about writing(!), but it's my first real try so I guess it's fine either way. I also made a deal with my brother to try and write small short stories for him every month. It doesn't matter what it is about he said, but personally I thought it might be a nice way to try out ideas for books, or to develop my characters. If I feel like it I might even post some here for you all to read :) If I do, be sure to comment on what you think :)

As a human though, I have a tendency to forget about the New Years Resolutions a soon as a few weeks or moths pass so I will post my little list here to make sure I really stick to it. (At least it's worth a shot, right?)

♥ Do my best in school, but keep the pressure down!
Stop biting my nails gradually
Start taking driving lesson regularly in Örebro.
♥ Loose (at least) 5kg and start working out regularly.
♥Start working (and show some improvement) on time management.

Some of these I have already started with, for example I started a routine to stop biting my nails before christmas (I can explain later) and only have a bit left, and I've also always done my best in school (I just noticed I was laying too much weight on the grades that it stressed me out) and I began working out pretty regularly last semester too. No one said you had to begin with your New Years Resolutions at New Years, you can start earlier. So I did :)

Hopefully now, I can keep them the whole year. Go me!

What do you want to happen in 2013?

Yoga Vinyasa flow

Today is the first day back in Örebro and I've actually gotten back on track pretty fast, I've even started studying on time! It feels kinda great I must say!
I even managed to start working out and eating correctly instantly :) Now I just have to keep it up!
Today, I went to the university gym and did the Yoga Vinyasa flow basic class for the first time. I have been doing yoga before I came to Örebro to study, and I've also trained yoga in the bodybalance classes and at home last semester, but I really wanted to try out the pure yoga classes here and I must say, it was great. The basic yoga class was focused on doing the poses correctly and our teacher went around in the class and corrected people's stances and helped us achieve true Yoga poses in the correct way. Even though I've done yoga classes before, this one was the most informative, and I noticed that with a few nudges in the right direction the poses strained my muscles so much more! I could feel my muscles burn in a totally new way! I'm aboslutely sure my muscles will ache tomorrow!

I will definitely go do the Vinyasa flow yoga classes again :)

When I looked it up online, it also seems that Vinyasa Flow is one of the type of yogas that burn most calories (the yoga classes that burn more are those extreme ones where you're in a hot-like-a-sauna-room and do yoga, not sure that would be something for me as I can't stand heat too well) since it's a flowing yoga without stop. That's a happy surprice too!

IKEA

 http://www.resume.se/Global/Bilder/Personer/M/ikea.JPG
Tomorrow it's time to go back to the normal study days in Örebro, but first, today it was time to travel back, take a trip to IKEA, buy the paintings I've wanted now for a while but needed a car to safely take back home, and do the major grocery shopping. So, my mom and dad accompanied me. Why dad came along I still don't really understand, he doesn't even like to walk around in stores, yet he came along for a whole day of shopping - whining a lot in the process. He said he just wanted to check that my apartment was as in order as I say it is. And even though it wasn't really well cleaned as I didn't have time for that before christmas, he had to agree that it wasn't bad ;) (success!)
Either way I have decided to loose some weight for a while now, and decided to start for real in the new year, now a big problem at my place in Örebro is the plates. When I moved in me and mom went to IKEA, but they were rebuilding the plates section that time, so it didn't really have much to offer, so in protest I just bought black plates and bowls, not many though as I didn't particularly like them. Now except for the fact that I didn't like the plates they were also WAY too big! I noticed that my portions became much bigger in those plates and decided to buy smaller ones next time. So, this time, I did.
Ikea's picture on their website of the plates.
I bought a series of plates from IKEA called "Arv" (litterally heritage), in a lovely smudge pink colour. I didn't want them only in pink though, so I mixed up with the off white plates of the same series and personally I think It looks great together.
All the plates and bowls have this wavy edge that I love, it really looks cute and a little vintage at the same time. The plus side is also that the bowl and the small plates are a lot smaller than those I've been using up till now, so it's great for portion size I gotta say ;)

I bought some other stuff too, but I'll write about them tomorrow :)

Fika with the girls

After coming back from Norrland I only have a few more days left in Stockholm before I have to back to Örebro, so after coming back thursday evening, I went to Robert's place immediately and spent the entire day with him yesterday. We didn't really do anything special, instead since we are both tired, especially my sweetheart, we decided to just chill at home. So we played Zelda Windwaker and kept on watching season two of Americas X factor (After all the swedish version is utter bullshit. The winner in the swedish version wouldn't even get through auditions in the American version, just saying.) all day long :)

On Saturday however I had made plans with some of my friends from my Gymnasium days - Selin, Olivia and Julia. Selin is at the moment living in Maastricht, studying as an exchange student, so we don't get to spend much time together, but she came home for christmas and I just had to make sure to see her again :) She's also blogging about her experience in Maastricht on tumblr, it's called tre två nio (three, two nine) and you can find it here if you're interested. Note that she's blogging in Swedish.

Either way we went to a café in Stockholm called Café 60, it's a very busy café with a million cakes, cookies, food and beverages so there's always something to choose from. I myself chose a Cheesecake and a big cup of chai latte. The chai latte was okay, I wouldn't recommend it though, and I think I choose the wrong cheesecake. I wanted a raspberry cheesecake, and they had three(!!) versions of just the raspberry cheesecake (not to mention all the other flavours!). A regular one, one with gingerbread bottom and one with gingerbread bottom and chocolate truffle. So I went for the one that had it all. And the cheesecake was good, so was the bottom, but although I LOVE chocolate truffle, it overpowered the delicate sweetness of the cheesecake, so in the end I massacred the cheesecake and removed the truffle to the side  :P But overall they DO have good pastry at Café 60 and a nice atmosphere.
From the left - Seline, Julia and the one closest to the camera is Olivia. Cutiepies, all of them <3
In the end, because it's been so long (WAY too long!) since we all met we had a lot to talk about, and we ended up sitting and just chatting and catching up for almost five hours! Gotta love meeting the girls :) <3

Norrland

So where the hell have i been the past few days? Well i've been in the north of sweden in norrland (litterally north land) in a tiny village called bellvik to visit my grandfather on his 80th birthday. Unfortunately there were barely any internet connection up there so i had no way of blogging, the only thing i managed was one tiny instagram photo. ;) so here's a few pictures from the trip :)

The little house where my grandfather lives. There's still a lot of snow up there!

My grandfather is a retired baker who's specialty is cookies so when we arrived we were instantly treated with cookies of all sorts!

My mom received some cookbooks from grandpa, and also a chef's hat that says "first taster" and so my brothers had fun with trying them out while portrayinc different moods. Contestant number one here is my eldest brother henrik portraying a reeeeally happy taster ;)

While my other brother harald portrayed the murderous taster who absolutely has to taste the cookies first, or else...! Haha ;)

Of course we also had presents for grandpa, it was after all his birthday :)
