Double rainboooow!

So for the first time since I got sick I actually went out of the house and went to a lesson yesterday. It was a great lesson so I'm happy that I went, but it was also very straining and I got a fever again after the lesson. Even so I don't have anytthing else to do until friday, so I decided to take the train back to stockholm to be sick at my parents house instead. That way I can watch tv while I'm sick and have my dear parents take care of me <3 The best part of it is actually getting some company (it's so boring to be sick alone!!!)  and getting to eat some nutritious food (lately I've only eaten noodles because I didn't have the energy to make anything else).

The weather yesterday when I went to Stockholm was really weird. It was sunshine and rain side my side and overlapping all over the place which of course resulted in rainbows.

When I got to the train station the effect was so obvious that I had to document it. So this is the right side of me, the road away from the train station. Dark clouds, rain and a rainbow
So then I turned around and faced the train tracks and suddenly it was sunshine and blue skies. haha! So crazy!
Then I got on the train and saw this beautiful double rainbow. I really like the spring rains when it's sunny and pours down at the same time. Then you always get to see rainbows ;)

Dublin (part 2) - Day one

So finally here's part 2 of my short journey to Dublin! Can't say we did too much the first day(mostly turned into a snuggling day, but you know, we hadn't seen each other for over a month so I think that's fair)but here's some pictures :)

After robert met me up at the airport I demanded that we take a picture of us (or a million). I realize two things when I look at these pictures. 1. Daaaamn I'm pale haha! See how the light hits my face totally differently than roberts because of my paleness? ;) And 2. Even with my heels I am so short that robert felt the need to crouch down with his head when we took the photo haha!
So then we took a bus ride back into town and robert decided to try out my new camera and snapped this picture of me. He hasn't quite got the handle on how to make the pictures sharp, but still pretty decent to be robert haha.
This is how the street lights look in dublin. Felt pretty weird that they had three lights. The yelow light was pretty much as long as the green one and felt pretty unnecessary haha!
They have such nice houses in dublin! Everywhere are these cottage-like houses made of red bricks and stone and I just fell in love with the architecture!
Then we got into town and the first thing I realized was that some youngsters had put soap or something in the fountain because the fountain was overflowing with bubbles even down into the street! And so I found this funny and asked robert if it was a usual thing, but he said it's probably pretty usual but not very legal.
So we took a few pictures of us in front of this overflowing fountain...
And I decided to go with the happy face because I was indeed super duper happy and excited.
But robert thought I looked silly with my peace signs and super duper happy face so then I made that face.... and well... He snapped that too haha!

Right by the fountain there was this lady that played the harp and made the whole thing almost magical. The harp music and the flowing bubbles and my over the top excitement at being in a new country and finally meeting robert again. Yup. Magical.

Listen for yourself ^-^ I actually tried out the video funtion of the camera for the first time here, and well it's absolutely great quality, love it!
Then before I had the time to walk any further (I saw street performer after street performer and so many people and stores and buildings that I just wanted to run around) robert topped me and asked me if we shouldn't go home and leave my bag (the 10kg on wheels bag) before strolling around. And so, we did. This is not the place he was staying (I forgot to take a picture of roberts house, silly me :P Will do that next time) but it was right around the corner and it was beautiful! The same picturesque architecture and with a beautiful tree (peach blossoms I think?) in the yard. I would love to live that way <3

Before wandering home we bought some breakfast, milk and chips for the evening and I found that they had really weird flavors... I mean prawn cocktail and salt & vinegar? yuck! The cheese and onion and originals were fine though :)

And well, once we set our feet inside the door of roberts place, we didn't step out again until the next day. Instead we ate dinner ( pizza if I recall correctly) and watched hunter x hunter and just snuggled :) In fact it was almost hard to get out of the house the next day, it just felt so nice to just stay home and just cuddle up in the couch together. But we did go out the next day, at around noon.

And we did see a  bit of dublin, and I did have the camera with me. But that's for next time :)

Happenings on another side of the world

I haven't written anything again for a while now because I'm still sick, and what's worse - I even managed to get myself inflammation in my right ear! So, the first day I was in so much pain that I couldn't sleep until it the pain subsided a bit at around 5 in the morning. So, not only did I have a fever and a sore throat - I also had a throbbing ear. Now, though it's a little bit better again. The pain in my ear has subsided, but I still can't hear much on that ear, and there's a constant beeping sound with the wonderful amendment of a robotic sounding echo inside my right ear. It's also trifling with my balance so I've been pretty dizzy. Therefore, I've mostly just been lying around, trying to get some sleep and watching movies. There's not much to do but get some rest.

And yes, yes, I WILL update on the dublin trip soon, when I'm well or whatever, but this is just a short update on what's happening in dublin where my sweetie is running around dangerously steep cliffs with his class mates. He sent me these pictures:

My sweet boyfriend with his classmates

Such a steep cliff makes for a great view

Robert, being all handsome of the cliffside <3
Looks pretty cool no? I also want to run around the cliffs! Yet i'm stuck here in bed :x I want to get well now! <3

Dublin (Part 1) - Travelling to dublin

I feel a bit better today, still feverish, but better. So I thought I'd finally start updating you on the Dublin trip, and since I took so many pictures, I'm going to divide the trip into a few parts to make the photo bombs come in more chew-able pieces. So, Here's the first part where, I'm technically not in dublin, but the travel there counts as well no?
My dearest mom and dad drove me to the airport and before I had to go to the gate we had time for a little fika. I ate a raspberry swirl cheescake with a chai latte and my mom got herself a delicious apple pie with vanilla sauce and a coffee. My dad was a bit hungrier so he got himself a burger on Max, but that wasn't as friendly a photo ;)
After I said goodbye to my parents I walked to my gate and had just enough time to take a picture before the plane started boarding.  As you can see it was pretty empty. Only a few of us wanted to go to dublin on a regular saturday I guess haha!

And so, I left sweden (bye bye sweden!) and had a two and a half hour trip in front of me. In a half empty plane when no one is looking and you have nothing to do but pass time. What do you do?
Well Why not take some ego pics ;)

Yah, I did do that for a while, but it gets boring. So Instead I read a book and concentrated on what I learned on the Internet on pressure equalizing or "ear clearing" as it seems to be called in english. I have to learn to be able to scuba dive this summer, so what better place to practice than on a plane? So I did try the blowing my nose and the swallowing and all the other tips and finally, I managed to get the trick! So now, I can equalize pressure. yay!
Finally right before landing I took this picture of fair dublin with it's lovely fields. Looks quite different from Sweden - even from the air. And in the following days, I would explore it a bit. But that's for another post <3

Sickling

So as you probably already get from the title, i'm sick at the moment.

You see, before i went to dublin i left my keys at my parents place to reduce the weight of my bag (i removed a lot of things) and to erase the risk of loosing them or having them stolen in dublin - it's not like i needed them in dublin anyway.

All fair no? But the thing is, when you then get back to your parents house and have to stress a bit to make it to the last cheap train for örebro you have a tendency to forget things. For example your keys.

So i got on the train to örebro and almost home i realized i'd forgotten my keys so there were no turning back either. So i called my parents to tell them to post my keys to me, and as usual my dad freaked out! He was like "no! You're so clumsy! How can you forget your keys!? How will you get in!? Where will you sleep?! Why don't you have the number to your room mate !?(the fact that she's incredibly unsociable and doesn't speak to me unless i speak to her first, and if i do she answers as shortly as she can with a "don't disturb me" kind of attitude, doesn't seem to have registered in my dad. You don't ask that kind of person for her number.)"
And so i had to calm him down and was like "chill! It's a monday evening she's probably home and can let me in. And tomorrow i can get a spare key from the landlord. Also. If she's not there i can sleep at a friends house."

In the end she was home (duh!) so it was no problem to get in. Problem was i still had locked my room door so i couldn't get to my room (or warm bed!). So, i took out the spare mattress (veeery thin thing, supposed to be on top pf a thicker mattress) and slept in the kitchen. No biggie.

Except our kitchen is really dry and has bad ventilation + it's really cold. So i woke with a sore throat yesterday and as per usual got a fever a few hours later. It's always mild though the first day - today it's full blown madness.

Little sickling me.

I went to bed before twelve and woke up at around eight in the morning, took a throat pill (strepsils) and went to the loo, then i went back to bed again and slept until half past eleven and only got up because i had to get to the university for a meeting (took two months to get the meeting so i couldn't skip it) .

Now, i'm home again after picking up two packages from the post office and buying some comfort food for the sickling me (a package of instant noodles and some nuts and coconut candy).
So basically i'm just going to bed again now.

I will update you on the dublin trip soon, i just really need to sleep first....

On the train tracks

Finally I'm on my way to Stockholm with my new camera in my pocket and a smile on my lips. Tomorrow I will be flying to dublin! I can't wait to meet my sweetheart again after so long and I can't wait to see dublin!

17.45 train to Stockholm. Not that many people actually. In fact it was so little people that I could do this without feeling too stupid haha!

Playing with the moving landscape outside and the transparent reflection in the glass. Or just ego pics. Or maybe a mix of them. At least I had fun! I'm so loving my dear camera. I really have to name him soon, wonder what I should call him? :)

Randoms and whatnot

It's been a loooong day today. The whole class has been sitting inside a murky room all day watching each group's discourse on the report we wrote for today. But it's all done now and it's weekend! Now I'm just going home to pack the last stuff before hopping on a train to stockholm. And then, FINALLY, tomorrow is the big day when I travel to Dublin to meet my sweetheart <3  It's been a really long time since we met now (over a month!) so I am super hyped!

Two pictures from today that's otherwise totally unrelated haha!

For some reason (which would be that I thought my hair looked kind of nice all half curly and shit, as soon as I got out into the rain and wind like two minutes later though it was all horrible again haha!) I decided to take a quick pic of myself in the mirror (it's really dusty though, and it STILL has the tape residue from the tape that was on it when I first bought it. I just noticed. I really need to fix that :P).
And yoou know what? I've been loosing a bit of weight (slowly though since easter. Too many celebrating moments. Mom and dads birthday, easter, my birthday and so on.) and I actually think I can notice my arms being a bit more toned (yay!). Still got ways to go though. I especially wish I could get more of a curvy waist, but you know, I'm not really in a hurry so it's okay :) I will take it a Little at a time ;)
Some friends from my class at lunch today in the new lunchroom at the campus. It's really nice! I have to start eating lunch at school more often haha!

Well, now I'm off. Laters <3

Busy day

Today I have A LOT to do. I have to pack for my trip to dublin this weekend, get ready for tomorrows seminar, decide on a hotel and book our stay on koh phangan in Thailand during the Full moon party, clean the apartment (the kitchen and bathroom will be under the landlords scrutiny next week - something called "spring cleaning". If it's not done by next week we have to pay for the cleaning, so we really have to do it well.) and I would also like to get in some workout and some beautifying treatments in my schedule lol.  I'm not sure how I will manage to do it all really, so I might have to prioritize a bit.

Maybe it's a good thing that the skies are dark and rain is pouring down, that way I won't be tempted to go out and play with the camera haha.

But really that's such a dark and depressing picture.... I can't leave you with that.

There, that's better. It's just a little picture of the bushes outside my neighbors house. They are still very colorful easter style ;)

So well, I gotta continue now. I will check in later during a pause or something :)

Having fun and stuff

So this is my dinner for tonight. A very nice piece of salmon, a lot of veggies and some Quark (Kvarg) with some added spices ~~ ♥

Now it's not really anything that special, but it's delicious. So why am I showing my dinner to you? Well actually it's simply because I'm having fun with my new camera and so I'm taking pictures of everything - including my food lol!

I've tried out a lot of the auto functions and scene selections so now I'm also getting on with the manual functions and I really love it.THIS CAMERA IS AWESOME!

That's all I wanted to say

Friendly (and pink) gifts ♥

So I've been playing around a lot with my new camera, and then I remebered that I haven't showed you the other gifts I recieved for my birthday - the ones I got from my friends <3

So I picked up my camera and tried to remedy that ;)

The card I got with the presents from Camilla, erika and their boyfriends :) It says "21 years. Congratulations! Hope you have a fantastic birthday! Now it's a whole year until next time! Hugs! ♥ From Lilla my (Camilla), Erika, Unicorn(charlie) :) (and) Christian."

In the packages that came with the card I got a cute tray, three cute sprinkles containers with mini meringues, mini hearts and strawberry pearls. I also got a pretty pink cake tray with a lid, but it had to stay at my parents house for now since I don't have anywhere to put it yet :( I still have a shared kitchen and so I don't want to put it there. But I will have it on my table in the new apartment I'll get after summer :)
From Cecilia who had just been overseas I got a little bag with goodies from Victoria's Secret. A pair of panties, a nailpolish and nailpolish removal ♥  I really do wish we had a Victoria's secret here in sweden. I've been online on their webshop and they have such a crazy amount of cute and sexy clothes! (Especially underwear ♥)
Close up pic on the nail polish remover. 32 nail polish remover pads with strawberry scent from L.A. Colors.

Close up on the nail polish. It's a pretty lilac color from the Color craze nail polish series. It says it had hardeners in it. Wonder if it will make my nails harder then? Also from L.A. Colors.

From Ellen and her boyfriend I received a cute little necklace from urban outfitters with my initial (S for Syrena which is my real name. Yes with a Y. No I didn't misspell my own name, it's just spelled like that lol.)

Short message to my friends: Thanks again to my sweetheart friends who decided to buy me presents even though I always tell them they don't need to :) ♥ And once again thank you for coming to celebrate with me, I love you all

Question from a reader

Most of the time I answer the questions I get right in the commentary field, or if they're bloggers sometimes on their own blog. But this time I decided to make a post out of it for some reason, so deal with me.

The question comes from a reader who calls herself Anastasia - love that name btw.

Q: What do you do when you're bored?

A: First of all I have to say that I HATE being bored, I think it's one of the worst feelings in the world. So I much rather do pretty much anything than being bored. I remember when I was little and had sooo much energy, but nothing to spend it on. Computers weren't really up my ally back then, especially since they didn't do much fun yet. So I used to follow my mom and whine about being bored, demanding that she found something fun for me to do. First she would always suggest me cleaning my room, at which point I pointed out that I wanted something FUN to do. She was actually surprisingly accommodating after the first remark even though I was a real bitch to deal with when I was whiny (still am I think lol!). It could take hours to find something suitable for me to do.

These days it's much easier. I just have to put on my computer and the whole world offers me something to do haha. These days I watch series(for example how i met your mother, game of thrones, greys anatomy, elementary and so on, or anime) look around online (especially ebay these days) after some fun stuff or nice clothes, watch youtube videos (right now I'm watching singaporean blogger xiaxue's guide to life on youtube, she's hillarious haha!), read books (I just finished reading carol goodman's water witch) or just you know... do something haha!

Yeah, that's the short answer. If I'm bored I do something. ANYTHING lol!

-

If any other reader has any questions, feel free to ask. It's just fun.

A storm is coming

This is how I looked when I got home rom school a little while ago. The wind was blowing like CRAZY! it even knocked over my bike when I tried to unlock it haha! And I almost fell over when the wind came from the side too.

As I cycled home I saw all sorts of weird stuff on the road side (broken chairs from a veranda, buss-stop sign fallen over, tree trunks and branches on the road... you name it!)  So I think a storm might be coming.

So yeah, that's why my lips dried up on the short trip home and my hair went all ruffled and messy. I just thought I'd tell you so you can  stock up on food just in case it's the apocalypse storm that's coming lol!

The first of many

I just got one of the first packages of my big ebay list of bought stuff. It's a big soft package with stuff that will hopefully make my hair look absolutely adorable without any heat ;)

I will try them out one of these days and then reveal and review them for you ;)

Birthday celebration no 2!

Today it's monday again and my lovely birthday weekend is up (though I will be celebrating next weekend with Robert when I visit him in dublin, so I guess it's not really the end lol) I did though have a little celebration with my family on sunday before I had to hurry back to Örebro again.

We ate cake from the bakery Thelins, it's a pretty famous bakery around here with delicious cakes! I like the ones with fruits on top  because they're delicious (duh!) and because they don't have any whipped cream on. I love whipped cream, but my stomach gets mad at me if I eat whipped cream. No I'm not lactose intolerant, in fact I can eat unwhipped cream, but as soon as it's whipped cream my stomach gets mad at me. Guess I'm allergic to the added whipped air lol!
I also got two presents <3 First one was a new camera for the trip. A very good digital camera ( a travel zoom to be exact). I wrote about it before here.
And a joby gorilla pod for my camera :) It can help stabilize the camera on pretty much any surface, here it is grabbing my mirror cabinet.

I have not tried the camera all too much today since the weather has been reeeally boring - it's just been cloudy and rainy all day. Not really good photoweather to try out your new camera. But it works great in dark environments like my poorly lit room lol! It has a great flash!

On the other hand, since it was great indoor reading weather I've read half the Water witch book I bought a while back. It is so good! It's really hard to put down! So i'm actually just going to eat a bit then indulge in my addicting book again haha!
