Our last day in inle felt long, yet short at the same time. We were still recouperating from the sickness and so all we did was rest on the veranda, watching the boats go by and reading our respective books.
We did manage to eat and keep down some fresh caught inle lake fish curry with rice before it was time to leave for our nightbus, but that was it.
We said farwell to inle lake, the nice woman and her family that took care of us during our stay, and on to mandalay we went.
On our way there we met a nice Belgian couple that we chatted with for a while before we tried to get some sleep. The bus was heavily airconned (we had to wear long sleeves and blankets!) until about two in the morning when it suddenly stopped working and turned the bus to a sauna instead...
The road was one of the worst we've ever seen and the bus must have set some kind of record in number of 180-degree turns in a row.
Needless to say in the midst of the crazy road and the fluctuating temperature we didn't get much sleep that night.
