Dublin (Part 10) - Eating crepes like a baws!

Okay so this will be a short post. I have a lot of pictures from th 19th of may (which would be my third day in dublin and a sunday) but I don't have time to upload them all (I gotta go to bed! Early day tomorrow again :P) so I will just make a short post from our crêpe eating.

Basically on that sunday we were out trying on backpacks and looking for gear for our asia trip and I saw this awesome creperie!!

They had these awesome lights in the roof. It kind of made me happy.... Also Robert was being cute :)
 1. First step was to put out the pancake batter and swirl it out into a circle with some kind of tool.
 2. Then you flip the pancake over and put on a lot of nutella.... mmm that's right Nutella cream on a hot pancake.. <3
 3. Then he quickly sliced half a banana on the crepe. He had to be super quick or he would burn the other side of the pancake!!
4. Then he put on some chopped strawberries and icing sugar. Looks good doesn't it?
5. And then finally he folds it over, makes a little wedge so he can fold it over again and then puts it in the little container so you can eat it without getting burned.
The place that we got the crepes - A place called Gino's. They also sold ice cream, but you know, crepes is da bomb! I don't know why we don't have crepes on the side of the road like this in sweden! It's so super delish!

Robert and me trying out the crepe. And it tastes just like it did when I first tasted it in Japan, except I think it was a little more filling in the japanese versions. Either way the nutella and banana combo was awesome! The strawberries weren't missplaced either. Can't someone get me a crepe-stand like this in Stockholm. Please!?

Dublin (part 9) - Online shopping super cheap brie cheese

The second day of my second Dublin trip we didn't leave the house, barely even the couch. You see we bought a lot of stuff for the Asia trip this summer because there were a thousand things we hadn't bought yet and back then it was only what? three and a half week left?  Yeah, so we had a lot to fix. Since robert's been in dublin it's been hard to just get enough time to fix all this together so now that I was in dublin for almost a week we decided to take one day for those necessities.
Sweet robert in the morning. Little tired <3
So what did we buy then? A lot of things as I said. But first of all - Eyemasks.

The first eyemask was one of the cheapest eyemasks around on ebay, and they had these cute fronts, so I bought myself a panda and robert wanted something more neutral so he got a black one with ZZZZ's
But then I saw this. A 3D eyemask that leaves space for your eyes to move around! My eyelashes are superlong, so I always have problem sleeping with regular eyemasks because they kind of... get stuck? So when I saw this I had to get that one too! (they were like one dollar each so it didn't really matter) Robert wanted one too but said he would use the other eyemask as insurance in case this one made us look like bug eyes hahah. Is it just me or does it almost look like a bandeu bra? haha! Can't wait to see how funny we will look with it on!
The next thing is an obvious one - mosquito repellant! There will be a lot of infectious mosquitoes over in asia, so we need to protect ourselves! We've taken the vaccination precautions and brought malaria profylax with us, but you can't vaccinate against all the diseases they spread so we still have to be super careful!
The next thing we bought (or actually I bought) is this waterproof camera bag that supposedly will make me able to submerge my camera up to 20m depth. I'm thinking that way I can snorkel and maybe (if I dare!) even dive with it and take pictures under the sea! :D

Somewhere in the middle of the long day of researching what was the best mosquito repellant, and whether we needed a mosquito net, and what waterproof camera bag was good and buying stuff and so on we needed a snack. And in the fridge robert had brie cheese!! It's pretty expensive in sweden so I wondered how he could afford to snack on it. But apparently he had got one pack of brie for 1 Euro! (That's like 10kr and a little over 1 dollar)  so we just snacked away! So cheap! I should have brought some home :x So we snacked and continued to research and buy stuff.
Another mosquito repellant. Though this one is a plug in version that you plug in and within 30 minutes it will kill all insects and mosquitoes in the room! So great! So when we return for the night we put this on and we can go to bed safely without getting bitten! It's supposed to be super effective too. Hope it works as it claims haha.
And finally, a pretty silly thing. A mini compass to put on our backpacks. I didn't really think we needed one - it's not like we're going to treck alone in the woods or anything - but Robert said it can be good to have in the city also, like knowing which side of the subway station to go up on or something. Oh well, they were also under one dollar, so I didn't fuss. No point when they don't cost nothing lah!

Robert cooking food with a little murderous intent ;)

Then in the evening we were so hungry and tired that we stopped our relentless searching and buying and just cooked and eat dinner instead. We hadn't gone to the store so there weren't much home - but we managed to scrape together some breaded fish with corn and peas.
Then, finally decided it was time for some relaxation. So the rest of the evening we watched hunter x hunter and chatted with roberts roomie Sara and her parents that was also there for a visit.

We never left the house that day, but we surely did the next. But that's for next time :)

Running around the block

Yesterday I met up with Sarah, Johanna and Emi to celebrate Emi's birthday - though in the end it turned into a shopping trip and not really a birthday celebration, but in the end we did have fun so I guess it's okay :D

I Found this supercute strawberry bag at Accesorize. I love that store, it always has awesomely cute stuff and I really wish I could just buy so much in there!! But for now I have to focus on buying the stuff I need for the trip, so the strawberry bag will have to wait :C
Johanna and Sarah were very reluctant to be on camera, but I persuaded them!.... Kinda.
My outfit of the day. Nothing special really. Super weird feeling to walk in flats though, feels like I haven't done that in years (except for workouts)
Emi also had to pose for the camera. Super model right there - with the hair flinging and everything lah!
Then it was time to eat lunch. The other wanted to eat at Sandy's but I saw a sushi shop at the other side of the street so I went there for some take away.

Sarah had the pasta on the picture above and Johanna got herself a wrap. I tried to take a picture of her but the wind was not on my side lol!
And Emi's curry-flavoured pasta. I had to sneak a taste of their pasta and wrap and it was super delicious :O
Tried to take another picture with Sarah and she made that face, so I started laughing but tried to be good and smile for the camera - so I ended up smiling on camera with my teeth. And well. That picture shows why I rarely smile with my teeth xD Looks horrible xD
Try no two. Sarah tried reeeally hard for the camera. And she almost made it. Me, I got hair in my eyes :P
Then we went to the body shop because the others wanted to buy stuff there. I'm not really much for the body shop. I think their scents are too strong - whenever I walk into their store it's like walking into a perfumery. But I did find this really low and tiny chair that I had to sit down in, and it was really weird. Like sitting in a kiddy chair. Had such trouble getting up too lol!

Time for a break! I look like I have really long legs in this picture I think. But don't let it fool you! I'm a shortie!! :C
A locket that Emi bought. It's a pocket watch :)

After the long day I went home and ate pesto pasta with my family while buying a lot of stuff for the trip, the (hopefully) last things online!!

I am pretty worried that the things won't get here in time - then I will have wasted so much money haha! Well, let's hope for the best!!

Easy and Delicious Salmon Dinner.

Yesterday's dinner has become a pretty regular one lately. I really love salmon and it's so easy to cook too. I just put a piece of salmon and the frozen vegetables on a tray and in the oven it goes (175-200 degrees Celsius is a good heat for this). Then I can do other stuff for like 20 minutes, and then food is all done :) I usually top it with a fried egg and some ketchup, or some Kvarg and ketchup. Yes, ketchup and salmon is great together :P Lemon and kvarg is also good. It's easy to variate a bit and it's easy to do. Plus it's healthy and it's not more than about 350 kcal. 400 if you add some ketchup and kvarg or whatever added flavour.

But best of all - It tastes super good ;)

Little busy rat

As you probably might have figured out from my lack of frequent blogposts lately - I have a lot going on at the moment.
Yesterday's dinner/snack. Not the best meal, but I had a lot going on so I didn't have time to make a real dinner :P

I have two groups project for school that I'm working on, the practical work, studying for the big final exam in the beginning of june, planning and organizing the last things for the trip this summer and also trying to get some time to pack for my dublin trip in two days.

It's a lot to do and most of it needs to be done before the dublin trip which adds even more time pressure.

I really wish I had ordered the wifi sd card a little earlier, that way I could blog on the go whenever I have those few minutes of micro pauses going on.

But it will have to wait 'til after dublin!!

Chocolate, nuts and other drugs

Yesterday I slept over at my dear friend Camilla's place. She was finally (for once!) off from work and her boyfriend out of town, so I took the chance to raid her apartment for a girls night <3 We loaded up with pasta-sallad and "natural candy" as it's called here, which is nuts, dried fruits, coconut and chocolate in a delicious mix. Then we watched "Love and other drugs" and talked girl talk well into the nightly hours.
My cute Camilla on the very comfy couch <3

We loaded up with a lot of "natural candy" - a big bowl of goodies for a good evening.

Dublin (part 7) - The real taste of tea and a weird pie

We did a lot of things in dublin the second day, but nothing was as awesome as visiting the Tea garden and tasting real tea. Now, I've never been a big fan of tea. I've wanted to be a big fan of it, but the taste has never really caught me that much. I have learned to be able to drink tea, yet it's not my favourite drink.
But robert found this tea garden place in dubli ad has been hooked ever since the first time, and I understand why! It's super delicious!!
The entrance from the street.
super steep stairs

Entrance when we walked down the staircase

It was such a super cozy room, with a calm atmosphere that we sat there for a few hours just talking and sipping the most delicious chai tea I have ever tasted!! I really wonder shy we don't have a real tea shop in sweden! In stockholm there are so many tea-enthusiasts that a tea-shop would bloom! Especially when its this tasty... I should start a tea business in stockholm lah! Would make major cash! haha!

A whole pot of tea we bought and shared for 10 Euro which was enough for about 3,5 tea cups each. I could probably have chugged down a whole pot by myself though! Ah! Now I want more of that tea! So delicious!
After the tea we went to a pub to see the typical live shows that go on in dublin. (if you've seen Ps I love you, you know what I mean). I also shot a little video of it, so I will upload it later for you :)

After seeing the performance we realized we were hungry and so we went to search for some irish food and we decided on a restaurant specialty called "guiness pie". And this is what we got:

So it's a bowl of stew, a piece of bread and fries. And a shot of guinness, supposedly to put in the stew, but I only put a little bit of it in since I'm not much for alcohol, let alone guinness beer. Now there was nothing wrong with the taste of the food - it was delicious actually, but when it arrived I was stumped. "This is not pie" I said to robert.
I don't know what pie looks like in other parts of the world but as far as I know, pie looks like this:

So yeah, I was very surprised, and so was robert because he had eaten at this very ame restaurant and gotten something entirely different. So we asked the waitress but she swore it was pie. So, we ate it, and of course it was good, no doubt about it. But calling it pie was a total lie!!
Then we walked down the cobblestone road that is central dublin (Like taking a stroll in a pittoresue city a few hundred years ago, super charming.) and went home to chill and watch more hunter x hunter.

And that was it for the dublin trip, because the next morning all we had time for was a quick breakfast before running for the bus - because we woke up way too late and I just barely made it to my flight haha!

I booked my next trip to dublin a few days ago and so I know I will be going to dublin again on the 17th (So very soon! Only a week left!) and I will be staying for almost a week. So look forward to more pictures from dublin soon :) I also have a few videos that I haven't uploaded yet, but that's for another post :)
