Sunblock for the super-fair

So as you all already know by my pictures - I'm super pale.

I usually have spf 50 on and even so I burn in swedish sun. Now, going to a tropical heat like South east Asia will probably get me a second degree burn or something if I only use a spf 50, so I looked around for something else and found this:

It's a Sunblock from neutrogena with spf 100+! And it's also broad spectrum so it protects you from both UVA and UVB. It has gotten pretty good reviews and is water resistant up to 80 minutes.

Since I can only bring small tubes with me on the plane (less that 100ml) I ordered two of these small 88ml packages and hopefully it will be enough, otherwise I will have to try some asian sunblock ;)

Spf 100 sounds pretty crazy though, like I'm an albino haha. It's supposed to protect me from 99% of the uv rays though, so i think that's pretty neat. As long as it works. Let's hope so!

OTG post - back to normal

I've been pretty darn sick these past what? almost two weeks? fever, inflammation in the ear, coughing and what not. Finally though, I'm getting better. I have no fever and the coughing is clearing up. The only thing that's still bothering me is that I can't hear as well on my right ear where I have he inflammation, but at least it's a lot better. And since I don't have any fever any more I can finally start doing stuff, like getting along with the studying, cleaning and other boring stuff that just needs to be done as my sickness has me lagging behind.
Me on my way back from stockholm and a well deserved rest at my parents house.
Apart from the boring stuff it's already may!! That means the trip is only a little bit over a month away! Can you believe how fast the time flies? Soon I will be in the tropical heat that is south east asia and explore different cultures and cuisines (I'm really looking forward to the foods lol!) and even explore under water as I will learn how to scuba dive!! I can't wait!

One thing I need to start thinking of though is the heat. I burn so freakishly easy and the maximum sun protection here in sweden is spf 50, and even with that on I burn in the swedish sun. I will definitely burn if I use 50 in the asian heat! So I have to try and find some other type of sun lotion with higher spf... hm... I have to look into that...

Yesterday's look

Yesterday I actually wore some make up for once, though only a bit of mascara. I use the best mascara in the world btw, the japanese brand fiberwig that was the first fiber mascara - it makes my already long eyeslashes superlong, does not stick to the skin (so no panda eyes or smudging!!) and is easy to wash off. And best of all, my sensitive skin around the eyes does not react badly to it at all ~~ <33

Notice how clear and smooth my skin looks btw? It's the missha bb cream that I bought a few weeks ago - it has done wonders for my skin ~~ <3 I will do a review on it later, It's still on trial for long term effects ^^

FINALLY! Missha Perfect cover bb cream

So i've been reeeeally excited about the product that arrived at my doorstep the other day.
It's my long awaited missha perfect cover bb cream.

When I opened the little box I had recieved a box of missha oerfect cover bb cream and also two complimentary samples from the seller. I bought my missha bb cream from a seller called f2plus1.
The bb cream seems to be real (I've checked a few different pointers online to determine real from fake) and the shipping took a little less than two weeks which is pretty fast.
The two samples were a missha signature wrinkle filler bb cream and essential source hyaluronic acid skin treatment. The bb cream is one of missha's line for the more elderly skin, but the right one I don't have much info on. I think I'm going to look up how ot use it to see if it's any good.
And of course, the bb cream out of the box! I'll be using it for a while now to see if it makes any difference to my skin and give you a review later :)

Rockabilly party picture bomb!

So as you already know on saturday after saying bye bye to robert at the airport i went to meet up with sweet camilla and her bf unicorn (his name is actually charlie. You know as in charlie the unicorn on youtube who gets his kidney stolen? Get it?)

It was time for my first rockabilly party! I had no idea what o expect, but i was indeed pleasantly surprised! So here's a gigantic photo bomb of the evening! (It was pretty dark in there so try not to mind the poor quality of the photos)

Me and camilla
Camilla and unicorn

Collage of my outfit and makeup

Camilla and Charlie dancing together (finally!) at the end of the night

There were also a few burlesque shows during the night, and I actually filmed those. I will be putting up a video of it as soon as I manage to upload it to videofy me.

Trying out the BB creme craze

So there's a bb-creme craze going on, so I did some research on the net to try and find the best bb creme for an affordable price. What I found was that most people recommended buying real korean BB cream as it not only moisturizes and covers like a foundation, but also looks more natural, has high SPF and even helps with minimizing pores, acne and post-acne scars. It seems like the korean version is more of a miracle product, while the americanized version is more like a tinted moisturizer.

I have no experience with western bb creme, but I usually find that when it comes to beauty products the asian ones are better, so I decided to order a korean bb creme.

After a little research I decided on a really popular bb creme brand called Missha. In difference to many other korean bb creme's it actually has different shades to choose from, and since I am so fair (or rather - pale haha!) I went for the lightest shade (no 13).

I ordered mine from ebay, so it will probably arrive in a few weeks and then I will of course give you a review!

Look forward to it!

Make-up of the day!

So as you all already know, i don't wear make up too often, in fact not often at all. Why?

Well, simply because i'm lazy haha!

But sometimes i do. Like today when robert's coming back to town or sometimes when i just feel like it.

What do you think? :)

Review of the Nivea Pearly Shine lip balm

Last week I bought a new lipbalm from Nivea called Pearly Shine. I decided to try it out for my winter dry lips to see if it made a difference. Here's the verdict:

First of all the positive. It has a very cute colouring of the lips that is not too strong or too subtle that it doesn't show. Second it made my lips soft pretty fast as long as I used it as soon as I felt my lips dry up. My boyfriend commented on the obvious softening of my lips since I started using it and was impressed. It's also very cheap and you can buy it pretty much anywhere, plus it's small enough to have with you in your pocket so it's always accessible.

And off to the negative - truth be told it did make a difference - as long as I used it like fifteen times a day. As soon as I didn't use it for a few hours my lips became dry again. Now that's not really what I was looking for - frankly I felt kind of silly when I constantly pulled up a lip balm and colored my lips to infinity. I'd rather have something that will actually give some kind of long term smoothness for my lips. Basically it's not very long lasting, and apparently the taste isn't great either. My boyfriend commented on the taste and said I should get one of those lip balms that taste good instead.

All in all it's just a very short term solution which makes your lips look and feel more kissable for a few minutes - but if you actually get kissed in the period that your lips are softened by this product your lips will instead taste bad. So, all in all - not a very good solution.

At least not for me.

Final grade:  (two out of 5 hearts)

For smooth lips

I want smoother lips.
Since I rarely drink enough water my lips tend to be dry, especially during the cold winter season. So, I wanted a product that I could have in my pocket that would keeep my lips smooth. So, when I went to the store the other day I picked up this:

It's a lipbalm from Nivea that fits snuggly in your pocket. So, what's so special about it? Well, it's the fact that it's kind of like a lipgloss and a lipbalm in one. It colours your lips slightly pink-ish and gives them a bit of a gloss - like lipgloss, but not as much as lipgloss so that you can wear this without makeup and not look weird.

I will try it out for a few days to see if it will help my lips any and then give a review on it :)

But for now I'm going to get ready to go see camilla ^-^

Fighting and chillaxing

After class I went for the Bodycombat class again. It's still as tough, but I think I'm starting to get the technique a bit better which is really good for my back as the wrong technique that I had last week really strained my back. But now, I'm starting to get it so hopefully I won't have the terrible back ache that I got last week (it was well masked buy the muscle aches from the workout though!).

It feels really good to start the week with a tough workout, almost like a kickstart (litterally!). So I think I'm going to keep doing it. Tomorrow I will see how bad my muscle ache is, and then decide if I will go to the bodybalance or not. I don't think it will be  problem this week, so I'm planning for a nice workout tomorrow as well.

But you can't only workout, you have to take care of your skin as well! To relax after the start of the work out week I decided to treat myself to a facial.
Wish I could smile on the photo (I actually tried) but the mask makes it kind o impossible. Must be the way it feels to have a botoxed face!!

So now, my body has worked hard and is relaxed and my skin is all smooth and refreshed - I'm going to sleep well tonight :)

Things you find when you clean

So as I said I've been sorting through some stuff yesterday. And usually when you clean up, you find some stuff. Well this time I found one of my Christmas presents that I hadn't packed up yet.
It's the huge makeup bag that I got from Roberts mom, his sister and her boyfriend on Christmas :) It was in one of the bags I still hadn't packed up yet since I got back from Stockholm over Christmas. (Yes, I know I'm slow :P)

I felt like playing with the makeup a bit, so I grabbed one of the lipsticks and the matching lip-pencil and tried it out.

Then I of course had to play with some different "poses" and different  filters. I'm going to say right now that my teeth are NOT that white, but you know, a few photo-filters on the pictures can do a lot :) ( I wish I had those teeth without filters!)

When you need to live like a cavewoman

My internet mysteriously stopped working. Usually i just need to restart it and it works fine, but today - no such luck. So, i called my internet provider, and after about 23 minutes they were mystified. Apparently i had found some sort of weird signal error.
So, until it's fixed i'm living like a caveman with only 3g internet on my cellphone. ;) So like any real caveman (or cavewoman) i opened my spa box, put on a ginseng and jasmine face mask, hopped into a vanilla and elderflower bubblebath and brought two books (one for schoolwork and one for leisure) and a bottle of water with me.

The schoolbook i'm reading and the face mask.

It may take a while to get the internet back, but I'm prepared!

It's kind of a hobby of mine

I don't know if if i've said it before, but i LOVE to try out new random stuff. It's kind of a hobby of mine.

When i lived at home i used to watch tv-shop and managed to persuade my parents buy random stuff from Tvins.com. For example, I (either by my parents buying it, or me buyin myself when i got older) have tried out the magic bullet when it was sold, the abtronic X2, h20 mop x5, some kind of rotating device that was supposed o remove hair with microbeads (i can't remember it's name) and sheer cover.

There's probably something else that i'm forgetting but either way i like to try out stuff whether it's something i buy in a store or off the internet. Preferably new cool stuff with affordable prices. I'm not rich after all.

So a page like Groupon is a regular site i visit. I get daily offers from them and some of them i swoon over, and yet a few of those i buy.
The package I received yesterday

This time, i have bought something about a month ago and it arrived yesterday!
What was in the package - two different kinds of blackhead squeezers

So what the heck is it? Well it's two sticks that apparrently can squeeze out your blackheads better than you and your nails can. I don't have huge pores, but as any other there's still blackheads in them and no scrubbing or squeezing in the world gets rid of all of them. So i thought i'd try this pore squeezing stick thingy.

It's literally called blackhead squeezers and although i got mine through an offer on Groupon (giving me 50% off on them) they're originally a product from ILUsweden.

Now i have tried it once yesterday evening and i plan to try out the product first a few more times before i give a review on the product - i always want my reviews to be fair, and when it comes to skin care products it's usually best to try it out several times to see it's full effect.

So i will try it out a few more times and then give you a full review (of course with horrific close up before and after images of my pores ;) gotta make it real)

so what are your bets? Will it work or not?

Buying weird stuff

Today i had my first lesson in prevention. This december course will be called "Developmental Psychology and prevention" and will focus on different ways to prevent psychological illness and promote mental wellness (most often in childhood and early adolescence). I wasn't very hyped up about it at first, but our teacher is very engaged in the subject and presented new perspectives that i hadn't thought of. All in all it seems like it will be a very fun and interesting course!

After the lesson i had lunch with a few classmates at one of the university's lunch places and then went to get my grocery shopping for the week done.
I didn't need much stuff so i bought some of those small things that i need but usually skip because of the budget.
for exmple i bought this:

It's a Luxury facial scrub from gunry with vanilla, elderflower and shea butter for smooth and moisturized skin! Or so they say ;) it sound so nice, i haven't tried it yet though, but when i do, i'll give you a review :)
And this time - i also started stocking up a bit for some things that i will need during December to prepare for christmas!

For example i bought a steak themometer, and several types of chocolate, almonds... Well you name it ;) can you guess what i will be making for christmas?

It's really starting to feel christmasy here. My roomate put up a candlestick in the window and it feels so nice and cozy <3 I'm probably going to start playing christmas songs soon haha :)

Are you guys looking forward to christmas?

Playing around with the camera

I was playing around a few days ago with one of the iphone camera lenses that I bought in Japan. They're really cool and fun to play with. This time I played around with the macro lens and tried to take decent photos of my eyes.

I think it turned out okay. The sharpness is amazing in those tiny little lenses. These pictures are after all taken with an iphone camera, but that tiny little lens just makes the photos into so much more :) It was a nice buy <3

I gotta play with the iphone lenses I bought more often :)

Small preview

I'm on my way to the halloween party, so here's a little preview.
Guess what i am? ;)

Preparing for halloween

Preparing for the halloween party tonight - in style of course ;)

Bought a white eyeliner and some fake lashes for tonights party. I have really long eyelashes (they're like spider legs!) so i don't really need fake lashes, but they look like fun, and it's halloween so i was thinking of trying them on tonight. If i dare!

Preparing my face for all the make-up it will have to withstand with an apple and cucumber face mask. But i kinda look halloweeny with it on so maybe i should just skip the rest of the preparations and go like this haha! :)

Mixing business with pleasure

I'm at the moment lying in the bathtub with a seaweed, seasalt, aloe vera and natural clay mask on my face, looking all silly of course! And to make it even more relaxing i made a relaxation list on spotify with zen, yoga, tai chi, japanese spa and relaxing piano music.
It's all home spa style!
But then i also need to work on my essay for school, so while relaxed and in the bathtub i'm reading the material i need for the essay, and when i get out my plan is to write it in a jiffy!

Studying in style - check ;)

Well, good luck me for now!
