Yesterday after meeting my group and going to yoga class i ventured home on my bike when halfway home i suddenly noticed something felt wrong. I felt the bike just shook too much for every little stone and piece of grovel on the ground. So i hopped of my bike and quickly realized that i had a flat tire. So, i walked my bike back home the rest of the way and parked it outside my house. I started examining the tire and pumped in new air. It immediately started wheesing out the air again and in a minute it was flat again.
So i thought "my first actual flat tire! I think i know how to fix it, otherwise there's probably a step by step for dummies on youtube lol".
And all was well, except i suddenly realized - i know where we have that stuff at home, but i've moved out a year ago - and i never bought any hose fixing tools!!
I was starting to wonder how many days it would take to order what i needed when my new neighbor came jogging down the road and asked me if i need help.
So, i explained that i had a flat tire and that i didn't have the equipment so i needed to order them. With a deep german accent she told me that she would help, that she had the tools and that she even used to work at a bicycle shop!!
So, in the end she fixed it for me and taught me exactly how to do it and showed me what i needed to buy (even though she first just offered to fix my bike any time it got a flat tire!) and i even got extra tips straight from a former professional!
How LUCKY am i?
No seriously! How LUCKY am i?
I have absolutely NO knowledge about bikes since i haven't had one since i was tiny and learned how to ride one, and when i do get my first flat tire i just HAPPEN to have a new neighbor who just HAPPENS to run by at the right time and for some reason just HAPPENS to be an old bike repairer.
Yeah. Well, i'm lucky and i seriously LOVE kind people who just stop stop what they're doing to help out people in need :)
We should all be more kind - what a good place the world would be then :)
