Smurf-muffins, ikea and a cupcake machine

My brother haralds birthday is next week, so we will all be celebrating him this weekend. When i asked him what he wanted he said "I want muffins! Blueberry muffins!"

So, yesterday i decided to make muffins and bring them with me to stockholm when we celebrate him. Said and done i invited my class to come join me if they had time and wanted. Unfortunately i asked pretty late (only one day beforehand) so most people already had plans, or were sick ( there's. Pretty nasty flu going around right now, everyone's sick!) .

Thankfully, philippe and Albin were available and ready for baking!
We decided to bake three batches of muffins - blueberry, lemon/vanilla and mixed chocolate/hazelnut. Since I have a (mini) cupcake machine that I got from a friend last year but still have never used, I decided to try it out for two of the batches (the lemon and chocolate ones) and then make regular sized muffins for the blueberry cupcakes.
My cupcake machine. It looks kind of like a
waffle maker but with small holes instead for
the cupcakes and a lot of room for them to swell.

The blueberry muffin batch. Yes, it was totally
blue! Like a smurf haha!

The boys, playing around with the blueberry batch ;)
The cupcake forms that I had in my cabinet I bought from IKEA a while ago. They were kind of cute, so when I was there I bought a package of 60 or so forms. Unfortunately, they were reeeeally thin, so even though we didn't fill the forms up as much as the recipe said (about 2/3) the forms couldn't handle the batter. So, when we got the muffins out of the oven, they looked like this:

Such a shame too, because they would have looked really pretty if the forms were just a little bit thicker. They tasted good though, so I guess it's okay ^-^
