knitting a scarf

I got back from stockholm on sunday, and well, I quickly realized when I got of the train that I didn't have my scarf - it turned out that I had forgotten it at my parents place (I was there for dinner on sunday as usual).

So, I bought some yarn at my local store and decided to knit a scarf. Not that it will be ready before I get my scarf back. Not even close. But the yarn was cheap and I thought I'd try. This way I can relearn to knit again, and maybe I can even try doing some fun pattern or something in the future, and then finally I can start knitting sweaters. Anyway I thought I'd begin somewhere.
The yarn I'm using. Just a cheap acrylic yarn with a mix of white and pink colouring.

Since I wasn't keen on just making a regular pearl stitch scarf I decided to try out a version of the double moss stitch. It's not very complicated, but it's not the regular scarf pattern either. So, I thought it would be a good idea to try first.

How much I managed to knit yesterday. I'm not going to lie - I'm not super fast, this may take a while...
I'm not quite sure it will be pretty enough to be a wearable scarf. (I'm already questioning the color-choice...) I'm also pretty sure I made it a bit too wide for a scarf, but whatever, time will tell :) At least it's something to keep my hands busy when I'm watching series on the computer.
