Dublin (part 7) - The real taste of tea and a weird pie

We did a lot of things in dublin the second day, but nothing was as awesome as visiting the Tea garden and tasting real tea. Now, I've never been a big fan of tea. I've wanted to be a big fan of it, but the taste has never really caught me that much. I have learned to be able to drink tea, yet it's not my favourite drink.
But robert found this tea garden place in dubli ad has been hooked ever since the first time, and I understand why! It's super delicious!!
The entrance from the street.
super steep stairs

Entrance when we walked down the staircase

It was such a super cozy room, with a calm atmosphere that we sat there for a few hours just talking and sipping the most delicious chai tea I have ever tasted!! I really wonder shy we don't have a real tea shop in sweden! In stockholm there are so many tea-enthusiasts that a tea-shop would bloom! Especially when its this tasty... I should start a tea business in stockholm lah! Would make major cash! haha!

A whole pot of tea we bought and shared for 10 Euro which was enough for about 3,5 tea cups each. I could probably have chugged down a whole pot by myself though! Ah! Now I want more of that tea! So delicious!
After the tea we went to a pub to see the typical live shows that go on in dublin. (if you've seen Ps I love you, you know what I mean). I also shot a little video of it, so I will upload it later for you :)

After seeing the performance we realized we were hungry and so we went to search for some irish food and we decided on a restaurant specialty called "guiness pie". And this is what we got:

So it's a bowl of stew, a piece of bread and fries. And a shot of guinness, supposedly to put in the stew, but I only put a little bit of it in since I'm not much for alcohol, let alone guinness beer. Now there was nothing wrong with the taste of the food - it was delicious actually, but when it arrived I was stumped. "This is not pie" I said to robert.
I don't know what pie looks like in other parts of the world but as far as I know, pie looks like this:

So yeah, I was very surprised, and so was robert because he had eaten at this very ame restaurant and gotten something entirely different. So we asked the waitress but she swore it was pie. So, we ate it, and of course it was good, no doubt about it. But calling it pie was a total lie!!
Then we walked down the cobblestone road that is central dublin (Like taking a stroll in a pittoresue city a few hundred years ago, super charming.) and went home to chill and watch more hunter x hunter.

And that was it for the dublin trip, because the next morning all we had time for was a quick breakfast before running for the bus - because we woke up way too late and I just barely made it to my flight haha!

I booked my next trip to dublin a few days ago and so I know I will be going to dublin again on the 17th (So very soon! Only a week left!) and I will be staying for almost a week. So look forward to more pictures from dublin soon :) I also have a few videos that I haven't uploaded yet, but that's for another post :)

Dublin (part 6) - flowers and performances

After seeing trinity college we decided to get a smoothie. Robert had spoke so warmly of the smoothies from zumo, and so we went there. Unfortunately almost every smoothie had a base of orange, and I'm not so fond of orange. But there was one that looked good without orange and so I picked that one. I don't remember exactly what was in it, but I had the choice of choosing extra either strawberry or coconut in the mix and since I couldn't choose the guy behind the cocunter offered me both. And I took it.

I had no idea that strawberry and coconut would taste so aweful together lah! (I think there was pear in the mix a well) so unfortunately I couldnt drink it all - it somehow tasted like preservatives haha!
Then, with robert still drinking his smoothie and me looking for a trashcan to throw away mine, we went to the park.
You see this pretty little swan? This is a looooong zoom in, because I could never get that close to a swimming swan with my camera otherwise.
And well, as you can see, the swans were pretty far off ;) Such a great zoom on my camera, I love it :D
Random statue in the park of some random dude ;)

Flowers were already in full bloom over there already so I seized the opportunity to take a lot of pictures of the spring <3

After the walk in the park we went back to the main street ad found a few really funny things like this:
The sign says: Closed for a mini-makeover, yet when you look inside it looks like the end of the world haha! I thought it was funny at least ;)
Or this sign on top of the gift shop. It's always rainy in ireland!

Then we saw some pretty cool stuff, the first one is crazy realistic statue made of SAND that we found right on the side of the street.

And then these guys! No not the them, the black statues, except they're of course not REAL statues, they're real living humans posing as statues, and they were real good at it too!

We also found two bagpipe players, one with a scottish bagpipe (the right one) and one with the irish bagpipe version. I had no idea that they had different bagpipes, but aparently they do!
The last thing we saw before talking a walk to the next place was loads of people wanting to take pictures of this statue. I have no idea who she is or why this statue was so important, so I squeezed myself in and took a picture of it. So yah, now that I do have a picture of her - anyone know who the hell she is? :P

New top

I'm not a fashion blogger. Why? Well for one I don't have the body to be a model of any sort, I'm lazy with make up and clothes in the morning and I don't like western fashion that much. I love asian fashion, but once again I don't really have the body type for asian clothing haha! I'm way to curvy haha! Don't get me wrong I've kind of started to like my curves, but at the same time it means I can't wear all those cute clothes I love.

Another reason I couldn't do fashion blogging is probably because of this:
I tried to take outfit pictures on my new top and belt that I bought from ebay a few weeks ago. and well, I'm not really photogenic, or very good with the whole posing and showing of clothes concept.
Stiff little me in front of the camera

Hahaha! I love this picture. I was trying to place the camera in a good angle on the table so I could take some pictures in the awesome soft light that happened to be right on top of the table and this was the test shot to see where the frame was. And it's such a funny picture I think! Suuuper long arms, no body, and a neutral, almost serious expression haha! But the lighting was skin perfect, and so with a lot fewer tries than usual I finally managed to get a decent picture of me:
It became my facebook profile pic, because a good picture of me is usually very far in between haha!

Oh! And to make it into kind of a fashion blogpost of some sort:
I got both the top and the belt from ebay from separate sellers and combined they went for just over 8 dollars (not even 60kr) !!!

Budget buy ~~ <3

Measuring your inner self

So as you all probably know I'm studying at the university here in Örebro to become a Psychologist. And to become a psychologist we have to know what it's like to be in the position of our clients. So, I'm in therapy. First up is group therapy, then I'm going to try out one-on-one therapy.

But that's not all we do for our clients. If we work for a company we might help them decide what person to hire. Now, at our disposal we might have tests like IQ tests and personality tests, so today we had the opportunity of making these tests ourselves.

So yeah, Today I have done a complete IQ test and a Personality test using the OCEAN-scale (A test measuring your personality in five areas: Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness and Neuroticism) and it was super fun!

I don't know the score of my IQ test because our teacher will have to score them first, so I won't know until monday next week, but I do know the result of my Personality test, and I gotta say it's pretty accurate! Some things I'm not completely sure it fits, but mostly my good traits and my bad traits are all there - on paper!

It shows my openness to other cultures and experiences and noted my defiant nature. I had the highest score you could get in imagination but a pretty low score in pliability, which shows that I don't really like to follow the stream or follow orders. I like to know why I do stuff before I do them.

Either way I've had a fantastic day today with the testing! It's so fun and I think everybody should do one haha! The IQ-test  is a little bit more scary to me, with not knowing the result and all, but it will probably be alright too :)

Dublin (part 5) - flowers and books at trinity college

After the park and the sudden hail storm we took the bus into town and visited trinity college - the college where robert is currently studying at.
Trinity college courtyard

Well there robert showed me the mini park behind one of the buildings because there's a sakura (cherry blossom) tree there and he knows how much I love them.
Huge sakura tree as you can see when measured with the tiny litte me (in comparison)

Close up shots of one of my favourite tree blossoms.

Smelling the blossoms
Then Robert decided it was time for the "three photos, three themes" game we play from time to play.

First theme was hamster.
For some reason robert started laughing at my version.
Me: What?
Robert: That's not a hamster!
Me: of course it is! They have huge cheeks filled with food and paws *makes paws with my hand again to show my point*
Robert still looks unconvinced.
Me: Well then how should a hamster look then!?
Robert: Like this! *does the face on the picture*
Me: No! That's a squirrel! *laughs*

It's up to you guys which one is more like a hamster, but I still vote for mine lah!
So naturally since we were already laughing at our hamster faces, the next theme became laughing. (frankly, because we couldn't stop)
And Finally, because we were on a date - a kiss <3

Then after that we went to an exhibition called "the book of kells", unfortunately we couldn't take pictures in there, sucks because they had some pretty cool stuff, like a video where they showed how they bound old books.

We could however take pictures when we went to the second floor to find a huge library of those old books. I bet being able to read these books would b pretty amazing. I'm not fluent in latin though so I guess I have to pass. That would be cool though. Knowing latin. Guess that's for another day though ;)

Next Dublin part Robert and I visited another park where the flowers bloomed and watched performing street artists, but that's for next time ^^

Dublin (part 4) - Dublin has schizofrenic wheather

Day two in dublin began with a delicious irish breakfast and some laziness in the couch, but after that we got out of the house and went to the nearby memorial park for world war one and two. It's a beautiful park and so robert decided to take me there as a great beginning to our dublin date ;)
A little too happy for a memorial park maybe ;) But he's cute so it's okay lah.
It's really a beautiful park and as you can see we had really great weather, blue skies with only a hint of clouds :) <3
The big memorial spire at the opening of the park. Someone had recently put a flower wreath in front of it.
Far away
Then Robert snatched the camera from me and tried it out while taking some snapshots of me.
A litle bit closer.
And you know what? When he showed me the picture I was surprised that he had actually managed to no make me look like a walruss in the picture as he's usually pretty bad at it lol! It's not a masterpiece but it's getting better haha! Robert of course blamed this new found expertise on my weightloss, at which point at had to swat him lol! It's not that much! it's only like 3 kilos. Can't make that much of a difference. I still think he's just getting a bit better with the camera haha!
And finally, waaaay too close
Or maybe I'm just kidding myself haha. This is way too close haha! Either way, after this picture we strolled around the park for about a minute before it suddenly started raining and after another 30 seconds it turned into hail!! We wanted to run for cover but found none, so instead we walked to the buss station while the skies drenched us.

Luckily it disappeared almost as suddenly as it had come and soon it was sunny again. But we and our clothes were drenched - proof of the schizofrenic weather.

Luckily we could dry ourselves a bit on the bus as we went straight for the city center and some more sightseeing ;)

Dublin (part 3) - Almost traditional Irish breakfast

So it's finally time for part 3 of the dublin trip! Which actually consists of a tiny portion of the second day. You see, the second day was long and we managed to do a lot of things, so I have to divide up the day in a few pieces as I don't have all day to write one post ;) (lazy lah!)

So after snuggling in bed in the morning (did I say lazy?) we finally got up to make ourselves breakfast and robert had promised me a pretty convincing irish breakfast!

Some type of irish sausage, thick bacon slices, egg, cow liver sausage (at least I think it was? It was some part of the cow-sausage lol!), mushrooms and the best part: Something like blood pudding with seeds in it - it was delicious! Black pudding I think it was called? Super delicious! Yum and omnomnom and all that <3 Gotta bring some home with me next time.
Robert cooking the breakfast while I ran around being annoying ;) (actually I did the dishes and THEN ran around being annoying and bothering robert ;P)

And the finished product! I don't think pasta and mushrooms are supposed to be all irish breakfasty but we were hungry so we went for it anyway ;) And of course a blig glass of milk!

Then we watched some more hunter x hunter and cuddled on the couch (though we also watched during breakfast, we're both so into the series haha!) for a few hours before we began a long day of sightseeing and fun in the center of dublin :)

OTG post - back to normal

I've been pretty darn sick these past what? almost two weeks? fever, inflammation in the ear, coughing and what not. Finally though, I'm getting better. I have no fever and the coughing is clearing up. The only thing that's still bothering me is that I can't hear as well on my right ear where I have he inflammation, but at least it's a lot better. And since I don't have any fever any more I can finally start doing stuff, like getting along with the studying, cleaning and other boring stuff that just needs to be done as my sickness has me lagging behind.
Me on my way back from stockholm and a well deserved rest at my parents house.
Apart from the boring stuff it's already may!! That means the trip is only a little bit over a month away! Can you believe how fast the time flies? Soon I will be in the tropical heat that is south east asia and explore different cultures and cuisines (I'm really looking forward to the foods lol!) and even explore under water as I will learn how to scuba dive!! I can't wait!

One thing I need to start thinking of though is the heat. I burn so freakishly easy and the maximum sun protection here in sweden is spf 50, and even with that on I burn in the swedish sun. I will definitely burn if I use 50 in the asian heat! So I have to try and find some other type of sun lotion with higher spf... hm... I have to look into that...
