Travel diary - A taste of Thailand

After getting to Chiang Rai in the evening and checking in to a hostel for the night, we decided to take a walk.

The first thing we saw was this beautiful golden clock making out the middle of a roundabout.

After that we continued to walk and saw an open hair salon by the road. Robert had not had a chance to cut his hair before the trip and so it was waay too long, so since the salon was cheap and open we went inside:

Before haircut. Forced into brat wannabe posé.

Apparently Robert smelled a bit, cause the hairdresser put on a mask to protect herself :p

Back to normal length.

After the haircut we found a beautiful little market (that we unfortunately forgot to take pictures of) and a night bazaar where three people performed different classical western songs throughout the evening and a dance troop danced classical thai dances. The atmosphere was lovely and the trees were full of mini light strands, making them shine in tune with the stars.

All in all it was a very nice and relaxing evening that made us long for our real visit to Thailand later on our journey.
